My favorite geek...

I don't blog much about my husband. We were friends for years and finally began dating in 2004. We were engaged about 4 weeks later. I think we just knew, and what's the point of waiting. I will say this, though. It happened so fast that some of my very closest friends did not really get to know Adam until after I had the ring on my finger. I specifically remember Jess saying, "Heather...um, I don't get it. But you seem happy!". (She gets it now.) Adam can be kind of uncomfortable when meeting new people. He's never been the guy at the party who comes up, offers a megawatt smile and a handshake and says, "Pleased to meet you, Bill." When we started dating, he had long hair, really long hair, and the cutest quiet smile. I knew there was a lot more to Adam than I had originally thought. One morning after we stayed up all night talking and...well, just talking...we drove the store at sunrise. Adam played me Jump, Little Children songs and we held hands. It was all so normal, but I was fascinated with him. I felt special to be the girl who he wanted to spend time with and let me in, past all that shyness. He is not the kind of guy who charms your friends on the first meeting, or gives a toast at a wedding. He is the kind of guy who at dinner, tells you that being with you is like one of those movies where the dorky guy ends up with the amazing girl that would never really give him the time of day. He has hidden notes for me all around our house, a treasure hunt with a prize at the end. He watched every episode of Sex and the City with me. He makes the best toast with eggs in the middle, whenever I want. He makes jokes that sometimes make me laugh, and most of the time make me roll my eyes and punch him. He makes me happy. Adam is in NO WAY perfect. Just ask Jess, my HCB (Hubby complaint department). But I feel lucky to be married to someone so quirky. I mean, really...he's a weird dude. A handsome weird dude. No one can deny that jawline is sexy. And so, without further ado, I invite you into the madness that is life with a geek...Adam Boshanks has joined the blogging community. The internet may never be the same.

YAY for Geek Husbands! Once you go geek, you'll never go, ummm... greek? Not much rhymes with that. I do have it on my list of things to do to one day have a ridiculously long conversation with Mr. Boshanks. Glad he's in the blogosphere!

I love this post! My hubby is the shy, quiet one that doesn't let people in. I too feel so blessed to be the girl he opened up to! Ahhh... love is grand!

Geek is hard to beat! I love my Geek husband too. (Truth be told, I'm more of a geek than he is) Your husband sounds like the kind of person I like to be friends with.
