One.

One stinkin' centimeter.
80% effaced.
"Just waiting on the contractions!"
Well yeah.

Are you at the "let's just get it over with" point yet? I'm praying for you guys :-)

If it's any consolation, my SIL was on bedrest and drugs to slow contractions for 4 weeks, beginning at 34 weeks, and is now off the drugs and moving around and STILL NO BABY! She kind of assumed as soon as she stood up he would drop out. She's been 2cm for like a month now.

Oh bummer!! With my firstborn I never had my midwife check me b/c I knew I'd be disappointed or over analyze any news I did receive. Thankfully, I didn't make it to 40 weeks. I hope you aren't too uncomfortable. Best of luck!

OK so 1cm isn't much but give some credit to the effacement-80%'s not bad.

good grief - i thought for sure that the lack of posts signalled a pending (if not already arrived) birth. grrrr - tell Charlie to get that little girl moving!

Since first-time babies are routinely 8 days late (not what you want to hear, I know), but my last childbirth couple's baby was 13 days late, I'm predicting that you'll average that out and Mallory will be here on Monday.

Oh heather - I keep checking your blog hoping to hear that little Mallory has arrived! You are almost there - it wont be long now!
Tell your hubby to take you for a drive over some railroad tracks for an afternoon - it worked for me!
I will keep you in my prayers for a safe and uneventful (if that's even possible!) labor and delivery. You will do just fine and your little girl will be in your arms before you know it!
Blessings!

Don't let that get you down. Dilation means NOTHING when it comes to predicting labor. Nothing, nothing, nothing. A good friend of mine walked around at 4 cm for two weeks, all the time sure she was going into labor at any minute. Another friend was not at all dilated at her 39 week appointment and went into labor that night. Mallory will come when she's done cooking, and she might not give you any hints beforehand. We're thinking of you all and sending all sorts of birthing vibes your way. Nora can't wait to meet her new playmate!!
